When traveling to a foreign country, should I change money before leaving home?

It is a good idea to exchange some money before leaving home in order to have the proper currency upon arrival for a variety of uses. Although international airports and your hotel can exchange money, their fees are the most expensive. Village Travel Service offers a Foreign Currency Exchange Service for your convenience.

Why do I need travel insurance?

Travel insurance can be your most important purchase. No one plans to have an accident or incident. But if something happens, the results could have serious financial implications. Travel insurance will protect you from costs arising if you have to cancel, delay, or interrupt you trip due to serious illness of either yourself, someone traveling with you, or a close family member.

We've decided to travel at Christmas - when should we make our reservations?

Begin your reservation process at least 6 months or more in advance, as this is the most popular time of the year to any destination.  Reservations can be made as much as 11 to 18 months into the future, depending on what you are planning to do. Always call us ASAP for holiday time travel.!

What identification do I need to travel to Mexico?

Passengers traveling into Mexico are required to have proof of citizenship. Carry with you a government issued photo ID and one of the following:

  • Valid US Passport
  • "Certified" copy of your Birth Certificate
  • Original Birth Certificate - a hospital copy is not acceptable. It must have an official stamp or seal from the state of birth.
  • A married woman with a different last name other than her Birth Certificate should carry a Marriage License or a certified copy with her married name.
  • A child traveling with a single parent should have a "Certified" letter of consent from the other parent stating his / her permission for the child to leave the country.

Passengers who are not US citizens should consult with the Mexican Consulate for additional entry requirements.

What is included in a cruise?

The cruise itinerary, your accommodations, all of your meals - breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, afternoon tea, midnight buffet - and entertainment - live shows, movies, lectures, live music and bands, dancing. You will never go hungary on a cruise. The food choices are varied and plentiful, from heart healthy to gastronomically delicious. There are shipboard activities galore including games, bingo, art auctions, cultural and destination talks, well-stocked libraries, and more.

Why should I buy a cruise from a travel agent rather than off the internet?

There are many choices on the internet, some honest and some not, and there are many factors to be considered.  Does the internet price include all taxes and port charges?  Are transfers to the ship included?. Is insurance included?

A travel agent provides you with the security of personalized service and a commitment to make your vacation hassle free.  As Cruise Experts, we are able to research all the options and assist you in purchasing the best cruise value.
