"Yes, Tahiti was a pleasant surprise!" says Jan Ledbetter, travel consultant. "I had seen the pictures, but it was so much more!" Only 2-1/2 hours further than Hawaii, on a non-stop flight from Los Angeles, she wondered why she had waited so long to experience this Tropical Paradise
Jan was greeted by a smiling Tahitian who presented her with a fragrant fresh flower lei upon her arrival. Her room, at one of the resorts, was an over-the-water bungalow with a thatched roof. There was a glass coffee table that looked into the water below. The top of the table opened to allow her to feed the beautiful tropical fish floating beneath her floor.
There are many activities to chose from while you're in Tahiti. Jan snorkeled with bright neon fish, stingrays, manta rays, and sea turtles. One afternoon, she had a relaxing massage that included exotic tropical oils. An especially exciting activity in Tahiti is shark feeding. You are transported to an outer reef where you don snorkeling gear and watch Tahitian divers feed the Black Tip sharks right in front of your eyes! Tahiti has some of the best diving in the world. Diving instruction, as well as certification, is available.
Other activities include going on a 4-wheel jeep safari into the mountainous jungle areas. A Polynesian Luau and show, complete with fire dancers, is a memorable way to spend the evening. And then there are the beaches, the beautiful, tranquil beaches.
After ten days of watching gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, eating fabulous fresh fish, snorkeling and adventures, Jan has returned home to share her enthusiasm for this refreshing and magical destination - one that is perfect for families, romantics, and adventurers.
